US stock markets ended down for 10 Feb 2010, with bears being strong at first, and bulls fighting back all the way to the end of the market.
With USD index attempting to consolidate and NZD and AUD staging a nice reversal, the markets are currently attempting to rally. At the same time, gold and silver had just reversed from their correction, and are also attempting a rally, albeit with less force than the down-unders. This information, coupled with the ECB's pending decision on the bailout of Greece suggests that markets will continue the attempt rally.
That said, it's doubtful that the rally will continue until a proper base starts to form, so down's still the way to go.
